The national boardwas created in September 2011 inas part of the Associa-Med nationalizationprojectwhichaim of bringingtogether all the medicalstudents of Tunisia.Itnow has nearly2000members, future doctors,students at the Faculty of Medicine of Sfax, Monastir, Sousse and Tunis.
Associa-Med is a student non-governmental, non-profit organizationthatwasfoundedin 1989 within the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis. It became a full member of IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Association) in 1999.
In the impetus of unification and sharing that our country knows after the revolution, an ambitious project was born this year, that of the Nationalization of the Associa-Med, with the creation of 4 local offices in Tunis, Sfax, Sousse and Monastir in addition to a national coordinating board.
1- Bring together medical students around common values in order to establish a community spirit allowing them to freely express their ideas and to act positively on their environment.
2. To contribute to the development of the capacities of the medical student through activities at the local, national and international levels.
3. Enrich student life in medical schools and provide students with entertainment opportunities to contribute to their development.
Tunisia’s medical students are leaders imbued with values, equipped with knowledge, abilities and openness to the world, having a fulfilling social and professional life and a positive impact on their environment.
Associa-Med Tunisia is guided by a Team of Officialscomposedby a national board and 4 local presidents.
The International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA), founded in 1951, is one of the oldest and largest student organizations in the world. She represents, connects and engages every day with an inspiring and engaging network of 1.3 million medical students, 133 NMOs in 123 countries around the world. IFMSA’s growth over the years has been remarkable.
Starting from the exclusively European founding organisations, the Federation has grown to include more than 100 members from all over the world during its sixty years of which Associa-Med Tunisia is a part.
