The 13th edition of AFP: For the Love of Medicine, a successful initiative by Associa-Med Tunis’s Medical Education Committee, transformed Valentine’s Day into a celebration of patient care. Held on February 14th and 21st, 2024, the event equipped future doctors with vital hands-on skills through an exceptional series of workshops. This comprehensive program was a testament to the students’ dedication, bridging the gap between classroom theory and practical application.
The workshops featured a wide array of sessions covering critical life-saving techniques, including intubation, defibrillation, and thoracic drainage. Students also honed their skills in various surgical and procedural tasks, such as basic and advanced suturing, plaster casting, and administering infusions and injections. The training extended to specialized diagnostics, providing practical experience in fields like obstetrics, ophthalmology, and essential examinations like breast palpation.
This event was more than just a training session; it was a demonstration that the greatest love is found in the commitment to learning and ultimately, healing others. By dedicating these days to hands-on practice, the initiative successfully fostered a generation of future physicians who are as skilled as they are compassionate, reinforcing the core values of medicine.
AFP 13 was lauded as a “perfect” version of the event, offering participants a rich and holistic experience. This included not only the core workshops but also a comprehensive program with a “pleasantly rich coffee break” and various offers, ensuring a high-quality and engaging experience for all attendees.
