JO X – FMT 2023

The Journées Olympiques X (JO X) was a monumental success, transforming the faculty into a vibrant arena of sports, art, and camaraderie. This 10th edition proved to be a dazzling week-long celebration that left everyone inspired and energized, beginning with a spectacular opening ceremony at the “Théâtre Municipal” on March 1, 2023.

The Spectacular Opening Ceremony

The ceremony began with a powerful and elegant tribute to national pride, as a violinist delivered a mesmerizing solo performance of the national anthem. The event was elevated by the presence of key dignitaries, including the esteemed Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis and the Minister of Youth and Sports. The tone was then set by the engaging duo of hosts, Eya Ben Nejma and Sleh Eddine Sakouhi, who captivated the audience and created a celebratory atmosphere from the very beginning.

A Captivating Musical Performance

The stage came alive with a stunning musical performance from Kais Baccour, whose soulful voice and captivating guitar skills brought a series of traditional Tunisian songs to life, enchanting the entire audience.

Inspiring Success Stories

A highlight of the evening was the powerful moment when inspirational athlete Amar Jmal shared his incredible success stories. His presence deeply moved the crowd and served as a powerful reminder of what passion and perseverance can achieve.

A Dose of Humor

The evening also featured a memorable dose of humor from the talented humorist, Mohamed Taher Dridi. His witty performance had the entire audience laughing, adding a lighthearted and joyful element to the ceremony.

Sports Show

The opening ceremony also featured powerful sports Shows, which set the tone for the week’s competitions. The crowd was treated to a masterful display of skill and discipline with performances in judo, aikido, and kendō.

A Breathtaking Circus Show

Adding a thrilling and unique element to the ceremony was the circus show by Amal Flexi. This breathtaking spectacle, full of daring acrobatics and incredible skill, left the audience in awe.

A Nostalgic Band Show

Adding a unique and nostalgic touch to the artistic lineup was the band Ocelocia. They delighted the crowd with a fun and energetic performance of Spacetoon songs, transporting everyone back in time and adding to the joyful atmosphere.

The Parade of Nations

Unity and pride were on full display as local teams representing each committee took part in a vibrant parade of nations, marching together in a powerful show of school spirit.

A Week of Non-Stop Action

The organizers went above and beyond to make the week’s events accessible to all students. With a wide variety of sports and incredibly low prices, the goal was to ensure that every student had the opportunity to join in the fun and enjoy the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

On March 2nd, the week’s competitions kicked off with the tennis tournament, where players engaged in intense, one-on-one battles for supremacy. The event was made even more special by the presence of the famous Ons Jabeur, who graced the tournament with her support.

The poolball competition, also held on the same day, tested players’ precision and strategy.

The high-energy excitement of the volleyball tournament, which rounded out the day, saw teams display impressive coordination and agility.

On March 3rd, competitors demonstrated incredible focus during the archery rounds.

The football tournament brought teams together for fierce matches.

The adventurous also took on the heights of the acrobranche, navigating with courage and balance.

On March 4th, the fourth day embraced both modern competition and classic skill. The Esports tournament showcased digital prowess.

The shooting competition highlighted the demands for calm composure, focus, and steady hands.

On March 5th, endurance was the theme of the fifth day. The marathon and cycling events pushed athletes to their physical limits, showcasing incredible stamina and perseverance.

The grace and power of participants were also on display during the kayaking competition.

On March 6th, the sixth day was a showcase of diverse physical skills. The karate competition highlighted strength and discipline.

The rugby tournament brought a raw energy to the field.

On March 7th, the penultimate day kept the energy high with more spirited competitions. The ping-pong tournament tested reflexes and quick thinking.

The highly popular sport of padel saw teams demonstrating strategic teamwork.

On March 8th, the final day brought the week to a close with two exhilarating events. The boxing matches, held in the faculty hall, were a thrilling highlight of power and agility.

The strategic excitement of the paintball competitions provided a final dose of adrenaline and teamwork.
