Journées olympiques :join the greek gods

The Journées Olympiques (JO) multi-sport event successfully brought together the faculty of Medicine of Monastir for a series of competitions and activities throughout February 2025. The event commenced with a captivating opening ceremony and concluded with a full schedule of athletic and recreational challenges.

Opening Ceremony

The celebration began on February 12, 2025, with a unique opening ceremony at the Faculty of Medicine (FMM). Attendees were treated to a variety of performances, including a dance show by May Omrani, a juggling act by Achref Lgallali, an acrobatic show by Amal Flexy, and a street workout display by Monastir Street Workout. This festive start set the tone for the days to follow.

A Dynamic Multi-Sport Event

The subsequent days were filled with a diverse range of athletic competitions. Participants competed in team sports such as basketball and volleyball, and individual challenges in pistol shooting and tennis. The schedule also included swimming, a CrossFit session, and popular virtual football tournaments like FIFA.

A dedicated “Faculty Day” on February 17th featured a variety of mini-games and activities, including table tennis, archery, chess, and VR games, promoting widespread participation. The competition intensified with a multi-day Padel tournament, which, along with tennis and pistol shooting, was a highlight of the final week.

Closing Ceremony

The event concluded with a closing ceremony on February 20, 2025, celebrating the successful completion of all sports and the spirit of sportsmanship demonstrated by all participants. The JO event successfully fostered community engagement through a well-rounded program of competition and entertainment.
